I know I have not been active on here for a few weeks, but sometimes other things are more important. A very beloved friend of mine was failing in health and I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. Sadly, she went to heaven yesterday morning and I hope she is up there dancing with the angels today. Family is not always about having that blood relationship, it's more about who was there for you when you needed wisdom, strength and just wonderful companionship and stories about days gone by. Even advice for a recipe or two. God truly gained a wonderful woman yesterday morning when she went home to Him. I was truly blessed to have her in my life for the last 24 years and every moment I spent by her side at the hospital and at home will be cherished for the rest of my life.
Today, I am going to start doing the catch up on things...I can hear her asking me "did you get your book done by the deadline?" No...it's probably not going to happen...since I had planned on having Ostara released in time for Getting Witchy With It in Salem next month. But perhaps I can get it completed by October...when I return from Salem and then New Orleans. In all honesty, it's coming along nicely...so considering I've written a novel in a month before...surely, I can write a half a novel in 8 weeks...we shall see. Stay tuned here for news on the release date.
As far as going to Salem...our plane tickets are booked, our condo is rented, and our sportscar is reserved...and I hope my friend and assistant for the event is looking forward to this girls' trip as much as I am. Some books have been shipped and half of my suitcase is full. My dress for the Witch's Ball has been ordered and I have trinkets and baubles for the event...want a besom pen? Stop by and see me...I will also have some witch balls with spells for purchase at the event...and they will get charged in the light of the full moon next week for extra power. It's all falling together!
To my New Orleans readers...I'll be taking a short vacation the first few days of October to show my granddaughter the excitement of Bourbon Street for her 21st birthday. While there, I will also be doing some research for my upcoming addition to my vigilante vampire series which I hadn't planned on doing. Think on the terms of the casket girls...this one is going to be one wicked vigilante female vampire...and that's all I'm going to say about that.
The next to the last weekend in September will be our Hoosier Indie Author Event - Book Rebels With A Cause which will take place at the Gas City, Indiana park on September 23, 2023 during the Ducktail Run and James Dean Days. There's about a dozen of us with a wide variety of genres for you. Stop in and see us...
