It's Been A Rough Week

Writer's picture: Teresa KeeferTeresa Keefer

First off, I want to apologize to any of my followers who went to the Frosted Flames event in Gatlinburg and was looking for me. Unfortunately, my plans were changed after I took a face plant in the driveway last Wednesday. I fractured my eye socket and looked like I'd gone several rounds with a prize fighter and came out on the losing end. I see a surgeon tomorrow to determine if it is going to need to be surgically repaired. Right now, other than a few local events around Indiana, I don't have anything else until Deadwood in June.

We had a couple sad losses at the farm this week as well. Our little favorite goat--Freya--the one my daughter bottle fed last winter/spring was attacked by what we believe was a coyote and she didn't make it. Then our other mama goat had her babies prematurely on the coldest day of the winter and she lost all of them. Farm life has been really difficult this week. For the coyote problem, I have the rifle all ready to go in the event they decide they want to go hunting in my pasture again. Don't judge...it's a necessity.

Our first batch of seeds arrived last week and so did my daughter's miniature greenhouses. We are saving our cardboard to prepare the garden for the no-till planting and will be going to take a look at a greenhouse next week providing I am able to return to some normal activities. Then the real planning will start.

I am getting some books read...I finished up The Witness by Sandra Brown and have started reading Wild Cowboy Ways by Carolyn Brown. On Audible, I'm wrapping up Lisa Jackson's book 2 of the Cahill series. I've downloaded Foolish Aspirations by M. Scott Swanson and No More Secrets by Lucy Score. As I finish these up, I'll report back right here. Or...you can jump on over to my readers group on Facebook called Books, Broomsticks and Baubles.

As far as writing, I've gotten the first two chapters done on Reprisal...my next New Orleans vampire story. By the end of the weekend, I should be up to four chapters. And...as a special thanks to those who have joined my readers group,..I'll be posting a couple of teasers in the next few days.

I really need to cut this post short...I am going to take a nap and then get back to work on my vampire story.

I hope you all have a great week!
