My Last Post

Did I get your attention with that title? It's not my last post...it's just my last post for summer as we walk into the brrrrrr months next week. What better way to kick it off than with a full moon and eclipse last night? Did anyone see it? Or were you like me and comfortably asleep by that time? Some of the pictures I've seen are absolutely magnificent.

This morning, I was not just awakened by Kyle to rooster crowing at my window, I heard something that is the sure-fire signal of autumn coming. Acorns falling on the roof of the goat/sheep shed. The sound of them plunking against the tin rang clear over the annoyance of a rooster who just cannot seem to let a person sleep much past five-thirty.

Of course, the goldenrod started blooming along the fenceline late last week. According to folklore and old wives' tales, this is the indicator that we will see the first frost in six weeks. Interestingly enough, one of the weather sites on social media has predicted our first frost for some time around October 15th. Time to get out the long sleeves, socks and boots and put away the flip flops.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. You've probably read that many times in my blog posts. There's something about the hovering mist over cool dewy grass in the morning and the way the sun lights up the changing leaves at sunset. I love my warm clothes and boots and homemade soup simmering on the stove and bread in the oven. I'm not a hot drink lover...I drink iced tea all year round...but I do love me some hot cider...adult beverage style.

Rolling into these months, I have a lot on the calendar. I'll be in Galena, IL on 9/12/26 for Romantic Galena Reads, we have the launch of Mysteries of the Mississinewa on 10/17/26 at ParaUnity in Peru, IN and our bookstore Halloween event kicks off with our paranormal investigator panel at 1:00 pm on 10/31/26 in Marion, IN. I am also putting the finishing touches on my first non-fiction book called I'm Not Crazy-I'm Clairvoyant which will be released this winter. Maybe earlier...stay tuned!
