Something Wicked...

Here in Indiana, we are suffering from Mother Nature who is off her meds. We have had everything from 70 degrees and sunny to buckets of rain to today's 85MPH wind gusts. The big goats got trapped in the back pasture when the wind blew the gate closed while the babies were all by themselves in the front. There's a calf hut laying on its side in the yard and awe came home to the hens all running loose because their gate blew open. I have insulation board from who knows where in my fence row and I'm pretty sure the neighbor's cow flew by the window a moment ago. Now, we are being told there's a possibility of tornadoes on Sunday during the day and evening then a blizzard going into Monday.

I spent the day at the bookstore logging and labeling our latest shipment of books and working on an entry for a writing contest. Oh! And trying to create the cover for the local author anthology which is top secret right now. But you will hear about it soon enough. Now, I am settled into my recliner trying to decide which work in progress I want to devote some time to.

We are starting to plan the activities for our writer's retreat to New Orleans in May. Our hotel is less than a block from the French Market and right around the corner from the Jazz Museum. We have reserved our tickets for a jazz luncheon aboard the Steamboat Natchez and can't wait to dine at the Vampire Cafe. It's hard telling what else we will get into as we continue to plan. And of course, now that I've searched New Orleans and reserved tickets on my phone, I keep getting ads for things to do in New Orleans,

Next weekend, we have our first spring market, so I will be working on items for our booth all next week. We are also setting up a table for the bookstore. We are referring to it as the "roving bookstore". So, folks in Indiana, you might run into the Bookworm Orchard at any given farmer's market or vendor market this spring, summer and fall. With authors and everything!

I'm hoping they are lying about the weather and that I will at least get a couple of days where it is warm enough to finish up at least one of the flower beds so that it is ready to plant when the weather finally gets warm enough for the long haul. I saw some really nice redbud trees at Lowe's and really want to go grab one before they sell out like they have the last three years I've tried to find one. Alas, if it doesn't warm up enough to work outside, I have a gallon of paint screaming at me to paint the bathroom walls. I hate painting but it's time for a bathroom facelift so unless I can bribe a poor soul to do it for me...I'm stuck.

Before I go...I just wanted to let you all know that Rowena's Song is free as a way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. Run over to Amazon and grab your copy 3/15-3/19! I may pop back on here before the next week is over, but if not...have a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day!!
