I may not have kept up with my weekly blog as I promised, but I have accomplished a lot during my absence from here.
I'm pleased to report that in the wee hours of this morning, I finished up Watermelon Moonshine and it was sent off to the editor for a final going over. Then, it will be off to the formatter once the edits are done. I said it would be released in Summer 2024...and since fall doesn't officially begin until Mabon in September, I kept my word. I'm pretty darned excited about finally releasing a book after everything that happened in 2023. Please keep an eye on my Facebook page for the release party!
Other than digging in and writing, I've managed to can tomatoes and green beans from the garden, harvest mullein, lambs quarter, and sumac for my herbal tea line, did an event in Indianapolis at Hannah House, do some much needed decluttering of my closets and read a couple books. All of that on top of my day job. Now, I'm settling in today to start working on Yule which will be Book 2 of my Wheel of the Witch series and will feature a Christmas tree farm in North Carolina with real live elves...yes...elves!
This weekend officially starts my autumn travel plans. I'll be off to Galena, Illinois on Friday for Romantic Galena Reads then September 27th I'll be in Decatur, Indiana for the Flaming Cauldron event. The first weekend in October will take me to Michigan City, Indiana for the Smash/Slash Author event then I'll be off to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for a weekend getaway with my author friends. October 30th I'll be boarding a plane for Phoenix, Arizona for a few days with my brother and sister-in-law which includes a trip to Tombstone and Books in the Desert on November 2nd. But the BIG trip will be to Ireland...leaving the day before Thanksgiving to arrive in Dublin on Thanksgiving Day. Me and three other awesome ladies will be driving to Miltown Malbay on the west coast of Ireland where we have rented a cottage near the beach. Hopefully, we will get to make a trip to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Aslands and take a day to drive south down the coast to take in the Ring of Kerry and Killarney.
Sometime between the traveling, my daughter and I will be getting the garden cleared out and prepped for next spring's planting, drain the swimming pool, order hay for the animals, and maybe even go shop for some fruit trees to plant this fall. And of course, it's time to put out the Samhain decorations...I just need to go find something to fashion a witch out of to sit on my front porch with a cauldron...or maybe I'll order one of those free-standing witches on a broom. I happen to love decorating for Samhain!
Tonight is the new moon, and I have some pretty important spell work to do so if you see me by a fire in my back yard tonight, think nothing of it. I'm busy. Please do not interrupt.
Well, I need to get off here and go to Hobby Lobby. I need some black candles, and I have some berries to ga
ther. Have a wonderful week and if you are in the Galena area this coming weekend, stop by and see me!
