Back on Schedule

I think I'm finally back on my normal Sunday weekly post schedule starting this week. Today. At least I think I am!

How about that full moon the last couple of nights? Friday was a little bit overcast here in Indiana, but last night when I left my friend and fellow amazing author's house, the moon shimmered down in the cold air like a beacon from the heavens. It was so pretty shining down through my moon roof all the way home.

I always enjoy spending time with my circle of author friends, whether it's traveling for a girls' weekend or just sitting around at the kitchen table with snacks and catching up on things. Last night was no different as we talked about family, work, books and true crime. This particular friend is also my editor, and I have promised her my next book before I leave for Ireland. So, that's where you will find me for the next 10 days...sitting at my laptop writing like a madwoman to try and finish up the first draft of Yule.

Speaking of Yule, when I get home from Ireland, I have every intention of making some Yule ornaments to add to my tree this year. I've ordered some really cool Yule flags to hang outside and am on the hunt for ideas on Pinterest for other unique decorations to add to my growing collection of holiday decor.

Most likely, I will start packing for my trip over the next few days. I know...it's 10 days out...but I want to make sure I don't forget anything because I usually do. This morning, I ordered my outlet adaptor and block for my phone cord as well as plastic containers for my shampoo and conditioner bars. I have compression packing cubes so that I can try to get all my clothes in half the bag so that I have the other half to fill with Christmas gifts. Yes, I'm going to do my Christmas shopping in Ireland! Christmas markets in Galway and Kilkenny, antique shops near Miltown Malbay, perfumery in the Burren, chocolate shops and distilleries...oh my!

We already have our tickets for the tour at Newgrange on the very first day in Ireland. We will arrive at 8:45 am Dublin time (3:45 am EST). As soon as we get our luggage, go through customs, and grab our car we will head north toward Newgrange and find a place for brunch along the way. After our early afternoon tour, we will then jump on the road and head toward Miltown Malbay and our cozy cottage near the sea. So far, that is the only day we really have planned.

I do have some really exciting news...I will be attending Authors Invade Scotland in Stranraer! The event will take place on August 22nd and 23rd at the North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer. My plan is to fly over a few days earlier so that I can visit Wigtown and do some exploring on my own before the event. I may even start the trip by flying into Belfast and taking the ferry across the Irish Sea. Not sure yet. This will be my first international signing, and I had to pinch myself to make sure it was real.

Welllll...I have a ton of things to do today...like meal prep for my lunches at work and hanging up my laundry...fixing some pork chops and macaroni and cheese for dinner...and getting some writing done.

Have a lovely Sunday and be sure to check back next week...I may have an announcement to make...
