Happy New Year!!

Good morning, all you wonderful book lovers!! Welcome to 2026!!

I don't do resolutions. I do goals. Goals that are reasonable and achievable. Why start the year off saying you are going to do all these resolutions when you know half of them will be forgotten by February 1st.

2026 is going to be an exciting year for me! Me and my two partners in crime and books are going to pick up the keys to our new shop today. Our dream is becoming a reality! The Bookworm Orchard will be coming to life over the next few weeks leading up to a soft opening on February 13, 2026. Our grand opening will be on April 25, 2026 with a book signing event as well.

Our location couldn't be in a better place. There is an amazing Mexican restaurant on the same level as us and there is a bakery going in right next to us. How awesome is that?! Of course, it doesn't bode well for staying on track for eating healthy...but oh well! I'll make up for the extra treats by working hard setting up the shop. So, how was your New Year's Eve? We built a fire and made finger foods and concocted some fruity cocktails...both alcoholic and non-alcoholic for the teenager in the house. Then we watched Regretting You before everyone fell asleep well before midnight. Today, I will be blowing cinnamon in the front door for luck and prosperity for 2026 then putting a pot of cabbage, potatoes and ham on to cook and making some cornbread to go with it. Then, I'm going to settle in and do some major work on Reprisal. I've heard that 2026 is the year of the vampire and Angelique Moreau will not disappoint. She's conniving, sexy, and dangerous. And she's 300 years old. This will be my first book of 2026...so stay tuned!

I'm going to sign off for now...it's time to get a shower and get ready to go meet my partners at the shop! Have an awesome start to 2026!
