Yes...I know...I haven't really written a blog post for quite some time. I cheated a bit by bringing you my short story from a previous Wild Deadwood Reads anthology and I really hope you enjoyed it.
In my defense, I have been a bit busy working on a lot of things...story of my life...there are the two anthology stories I'm contributing to as well as two other books I'm working on diligently (when I'm not in the pool with an adult drink and a good book). I am planning for three trips in three months...the first is related to my day job which I hadn't expected...the second one is to Galena, Illinois for Romantic Galena Reads...the third one is the BIG one to Ireland.
Let me talk a little bit about Romantic Galena Reads...if you are going to be in that area on September 9th, I am co-sponsoring an afternoon tea with three other authors at Miss Murphy's. If you would like to join us, you can go to our Facebook page and purchase a ticket. I'm thinking of dressing up like a proper lady for the event...hat and all. And I believe the four of us are going to have some pretty nice gift bags for those who attend. On Saturday is the actual book signing and we are very excited to have our anthology cover model-Robert Kelly-at the event to greet you. Besides being a cover model, he's a fantastic person!
So, I've talked and talked about my trip to Ireland over the months, but I finally have most everything planned out. My beautiful daughter and I will leave Indianapolis on October 5th and arrive in Dublin on October 6th. Day one we are driving to Wicklow on the southern coast then back across the mountains through either Kilkenny or Cork and staying in Limerick the first night. In case you didn't know, my upcoming new release and prequel to The Summers Sisters trilogy is partially set in Limerick. The second day we are driving to Dingle which is on the Wild Atlantic Way and appears to be a cute little harbor town. On day 3 we are driving to Doolin via either Tralee or Shannon where we will go see the Cliffs of Moher. Day 4 is on to Galway and Day 5 is back to Dublin after we make a stop at Leap Castle. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say Leap Castle may end up in one of my future books if it is as haunted as they say it is. At some point in the trip, we are going to go horseback riding on the beach, which I am very excited about since I've never ridden on the ocean before.
At home, the garden is coming in nicely and I am going to have the task of picking and canning green beans this weekend as well as canning pickles...even though I still have about 15 pints of dill and bread and butter pickles from last year! I'm searching for a girlfriend for Zeke, I think he is lonely and he is too rough with the goats so he's in his own half of the pasture while they are in the other. I'm also going to pick up a new doe this weekend from a farm up north. She's chocolate colored and I'm still trying to think of a name for her.
If you are interested in what books I have coming up for sale, I will be doing a deep discount on Deadly Vision in the upcoming weeks and I will announce it here first. I may do something this fall with my Possum Creek series...again...watch for news here.
Finally, I am working with a fellow Hoosier author-Kathy Gerstorff-to plan and pull off a book signing. Our tagline will be Hoosier Indie Authors-Bringing Stories to Hoosiers and right now we believe it will be at the Honeywell Center in Wabash, IN sometime closer to the holidays. Watch for the announcement, especially if you are from our home state of Indiana!
That is all for now! Have a great weekend!!
