Just a Quick Check-In

Hey everyone...greetings from New Orleans, Louisiana!! It's day 4 of a road trip with my granddaughter to celebrate her 21st birthday. We left Saturday afternoon and drove as far as Decatur, Alabama then were back on the road early Sunday and arrived here at our AirBnB in the Marigny section of the city. It's a cute little place with a lot of original fixtures and charm about a block off St. Claude Avenue. Paul has been a perfect host and I highly recommend this little cottage.

We've done dinner at the Vampire Cafe in the French Quarter with traditional alligator po'boys. I had a nice tall Hand Grenade which knocked me on my butt by the time we got back to our lodging. Let a pair of parrots perch on our shoulders and my granddaughter got a tarot reading from one of the street vendors. Day 2 we toured St. Louis Cathedral and I lit candles for Betty and Curtis, we had the obligatory beignets at Cafe DuMond and listened to the street musician play his singing saxophone. Walked through the French Market then around to Hex for readings and gifts to take home and stopped at Molly's for a cool drink before dragging our weary butts all the way over to St. Louis Cemetery for a tour. Thank goodness for Uber!

Today, we are off to Bay St. Louis on the Mississippi coast where we will stay in a cottage about a block from the beach. We want to take a drive to the swamp and get some photos there, but we have plenty of time between checking out here and checking in there. And I've been told it's Cruising the Coast week, so I'm sure there are a lot of things to do. But this is supposed to be our kick back and relax portion of the trip before making the thirteen hour drive home on Thursday.

I wish I could say I've gotten some writing done, but I haven't. Maybe while we are at the cottage on the bay I can sit outside in the evening and get some work done. I have two books I'd like to get released before the end of the year and get a good start on my first release for 2024. Which I will...come hell or high water!

I'm going to sign off now and leave you with a promise to post pictures later on...because my laptop isn't cooperating today!
