After a busy weekend last week, it's just nice to sit in my recliner, eat pizza and watch television. Tonight, decided to go for a blast from the past and watch The Hangover, then I'll do a little bit of writing. I'm still on schedule to get Yule released before Christmas.
Last weekend, I had a fantastic trip to Arizona for Books in the Desert. Staying with my brother and sister-in-law, they treated me to a trip to Tombstone where we went on a ghost tour of The Bird Cage. I"ve got a few pictures with orbs and using the provided earphones, was able to clearly hear a couple ghostly voices. It was a pretty cool town.
We also went to breakfast at The Bisbee Breakfast Club in Lowell, AZ. Lowell is a sleepy little town frozen in the 50s. Old cars line the mpty streets while a mechanic rattles away in a dusty old auto shop. There was even a Greyhound bus station and bus to go with it. I told my sister-in-law that the town reminded me of a horror movie where a young couple run out of gas or have a car breakdown and becomes the target of some maniacal monster. And no, there will be no upcoming story based on the town.
The signing was a very nice event. The last one for me this year. I'll be gearing up for Frosted Flames in Gatlinburg, TN in January and waiting patiently to see if I'm going to be on the list for an event in Scotland next August.
I bought our admission tickets for Newgrange for our first day in Ireland. We will land around 8:45 am and by the time we get through customs, grab the car, and head for County Meath where we can grab brunch and take the tour at Newgrange. Then it's off to Athlone for another stop then we should reach our cottage on the coast in Miltown Malbay by dinner time. That's just day one. We have to kind of wait to see what the weather might bring before we decide if Inishmore is going to be a possibility this round, or if I'll be making the trip to Ireland again later to spend an entire week on the island.
Well, consiering that I honestly thought tonight was Friday when I sat down to write this blog entry, I'm going to have to call it a night so I can finish up my week at work. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
