Rainy Days, Books and Vampire Diaries

Friday evening was--thankfully--a nice one. Not too much sun and just enough spring warmth to make the annual Walk of Hope bearable. I joined the team from my work and did the walk, then grabbed an iced tea and went home for some time in the hot tub.

Saturday morning dawned as a chilly and damp 44 degrees, but my wonderful neighbor took me to pick up lumber for my raised beds. Then the wind picked up and the clouds rolled in, so by the time my daughter and I picked up about a ton of dirt...just kidding...it was too freaking cold to work in the yard. There is always tomorrow I told myself. I pulled out my phone and flipped to my Kindle app and started reading my friend Tina Susedik's Picturing Annabella. Until I fell asleep in the recliner around 9.

Imagine my dismay when I was awakened to the rooster crowing at my window and the steady pound of rain on the metal roof. No yard work today either. So, after my appointment at the shop, I dropped off some eggs at my daughter's house where she was cozied up in her chair rewatching The Vampire Diaries. Now guess where I am...yup...cozied up in my pajamas in my recliner binge watching The Vampire Diaries from Season 1.

I'll probably do some writing later after I put the chickens and ducks up for the night or maybe I'll do some shopping on Amazon for a new pool pump since it's getting that close to that time of the year. And...I was scrolling on TikTok today and I think that I'm going to have to order one of those slushy machines for the summer. What could be better than wine slushies and a good book in the pool this summer? Once I get the garden in order that is.

I think I may run out and hop in the hot tub for a little bit. This rain and chill have gotten to me today. Nothing that a little hot tub can't cure. With that...I'm going to tell you all to have a wonderful night...and a fantastic week!
