I absolutely love to travel in the fall…especially as the leaves start to turn and the orchards are full of apples and pumpkins and gourds! This weekend is the break between last weekend’s trip (which replaced my NOLA trip) and next week’s journey out west. I just sat down to take a break from cleaning house and packing and thought I’d drop in on the blog for a few.
My friend and I had beautiful weather for our quick jaunt to Holmes County in Ohio where we stayed at a cozy Airbnb near Berlin hosted by Malinda. Despite taking a wrong turn after lunch and ending up about 80 miles from Columbus, we still arrived in time to enjoy an evening at Herschberger’s farm. After enjoying a dinner of trail bologna and cheese on homemade buns with a side of chili, we took a walk through their petting zoo. We got to feed horses, goats, cows, pigs and alpaca before heading over to their grocery and bakery to load up on snacks…and I don’t want to forget the amazing fresh cider slushy that paired very nicely with their fresh kettle corn. Saturday started off with a nice breakfast cooked at the cottage then off we headed to Millersburg for some early Christmas shopping. Our other stops that day included the cheese factory near Charm then The Farm at Walnut Creek. Again, we enjoyed a nice meal outside of Amish noodles, baked beans, and either a hot dog or BBQ chicken. I had the hot dog because I’m not fond of chicken legs and thighs. We listened to a speaker from Save Our Harvest (look them up) then took the drive through their “petting zoo”. I say that with tongue in cheek because you drive through and the animals come up to the car window to beg for treats. Dinner that evening was at Hotel Millersburg where my one consolation for being bummed about NOLA was an appetizer of gator bites. Not the same as sitting in the midst of the crowds at Jackson Square with gator and boudin…but it sufficed. The first fall trip is in the books with two more to go…follow along to hear about my travels…and if you want…you can hear about my books too!
Lone Vengeance released last Friday if you are looking for a steamy, erotic vampire thriller set in NOLA…and I’ll be sitting down later tonight to start working on my upcoming mystery/thriller called Rising from the Mist…release date will be early 2022. If you are looking for a holiday romance, run and grab One Magick Yule which is free on Amazon through 10/10/21. It has a new look compliments of my very talented PA…Tessa from Poised Pen Productions. I’m going to sign off until next time…happy October and happy reading!!
