Merry Christmas To All!

Writer's picture: Teresa KeeferTeresa Keefer

This will most likely be my last post for 2022. But, I'll be back in January to share tidbits of what is going on in this writer's life! In the meantime, I've been shopping and getting ready for the upcoming Christmas Eve dinner at my daughter's house. My contribution...other than gifts...will be Amaretto Cake, bread pudding, a pie and wine...plenty of wine. Hopefully, we don't get the winter storm which has been predicted...or the harrowing wind chills...snow...I can handle...negative 30 wind chills...not so much. And of course, I have a doe ready to give birth...happens on the coldest, most miserable day of the year every darn time!

I thought I was pretty close to being done with my shopping...until I made a list of everything that is piled up in the book nook in my office. Now, I realize...I have quite a bit left to do. Guess I will be spending lunch break the next three days finishing up. As far as wrapping...I'd almost pay someone to do the wrapping...which I have not even started yet. I see a lot of gift bags and tissue paper in my near future.

As far as other things...I've been baking up a storm...unfortunately, I cannot keep cookies in the container for very long because someone...not me...has been eating their fill. Which is okay...I'll just make more! I will continue to bake throughout the entire holiday season until I have to go back to work after the first of the year. There will be bread, rolls, cakes, cookies, pies...you name it...the one thing I love about winter is baking.

This year, I managed to put out three Christmas trees...I still have a couple in my storage unit but I'll get to those next year. In my spare bedroom, I have a sunflower tree with white snowflake lights. In my bedroom I have a plain tree with white lights, rusty bells, pine cones and a pair of gnomes with a little white feather deer. The living room tree is filled with white lights and a mixture of handmade as well as store bought ornaments. I also have a good supply of the most amazing wax melts I bought at Tractor Supply and my own supply of the candles I made in the fall.

We also got to go see a couple of movies in the last month. The Banshees of Inisheren was a dark comedy filmed on the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland. It's a worth seeing type movie if you like things like that or if you like Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. We also went to see the new Avatar movie Saturday night...in 3D of course! Can you believe it's been 13 years since the first one came out? The first Avatar was actually the first time I'd been to a 3D movie...this one was just as good...with a little more action and 'edge of the seat' type scenes...great movie!

How many of you have been reading on Kindle Vella? Well...if you like New Orleans, ghosts and romance I have a new Vella title up. It's called Ghostly Reunion...and was originally a short story in an anthology about 6 years ago...now, it's going to be a full-length...and you can read it episode by episode as it gets posted.

I'm also working on a historical romance...no title as of yet...but it is set in 17th century Ireland and is a romance between a solitary woodland witch and the son of a wealthy lord. This historical romance will be filled with magick and faeries and animals of the woods...not to mention the woodland witch's secret place that only love can open. It will be my first full-length historical romance and I anticipate a release sometime in 2023.

I'm going to jump off here...my lunch is almost over...and I still have some shopping to do...but seriously...thanks to each and every one of you who has touched my life in the past year. I cherish each and every one of you and am sending blessings and magick for your holiday season. God Bless, Blessed Be, and le dea-ghuí to all!
