I don't know about you, but I'm starting to see signs of autumn. The night air is crisp and damp and the sunrise is getting later and later. I hate to see summer go, but I'm a fall sort of girl, so I'm looking forward to the leaves changing, putting on my hiking boots, sipping warm apple cider spiked with Fireball, eating popcorn balls and cake donuts while watching a movie. Yes, those autumn days are calling my name...but I have to say a sad goodbye to weekends floating leisurely in the pool with a good book and feeling the hot sun on my skin.
Speaking of good books...from authors other than myself...I have read Colleen Hoover's Verity and sat and stared at it when I reached the end. I've also downloaded River of Ashes by Alexandria Weis and Lucas Astor and look forward to getting started on it soon. I also have downloaded Kiss Lori For Me by Dr. Lori Goss-Reaves who is a local author. Who else reads two books at the same time? Besides me...
So, what is on the agenda for me...other than reading good books...
September 9th I will be hosting a tea in Galena, IL and September 10th I will be doing Romantic Galena Reads at the DeSoto House. If you are local or driving distance to the event, stop by my table and tell me you read my blog and I'll have a free gift for you. Oh! And besides books, I will also have my Sunflower Acres line of candles as well as a few tee-shirts from my daughter's business for sale...and I offer a discount if you buy a book or vice versa.
October 5th - 11th I will be across the pond with my daughter doing a five day road trip across Ireland. Do I have any followers based out of Ireland? If so, you might find me wandering around Limerick, Dingle, Doolin, Galway and Dublin at some point. And there's this little town called Sneem that I think sounds really magickal and visit worthy. Hopefully, we have time. And if you would like to follow along...you can see a day by day accounting on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TeresaAKeefer. After that trip, I'm going to wrap up Rowena's Song for release on December 1, 2022.
November 26th you can find me in my old hometown of Wabash, IN at the Honeywell Center. I certainly hope I see a lot of family and friends there. I have partnered with fellow Hoosier Author Kathy Gerstorff to host this event and I can tell you, we are really excited to bring a variety of authors and genres to our Hoosier readers. Admission will be free and the first 20 guests will receive an event tote bag to commemorate the book fair. You can find us under Hoosier Indie Authors Book Fair on Facebook.
I thought about keeping this news under my hat...but I just can't! I am going to New Orleans in February for Carnival! I will be at the VFW in Harahan, LA on Saturday, February 4, 2023 but you might find me wandering down Bourbon Street at some point with a nice tall hurricane. New Orleans is one of my favorite places in the United States because of its music, mysticism, steamy romantic undertones and tales of vampires and voodoo practitioners. It is also the setting of my Blood Reckoning series as well as Wing and a Prayer. If you are one of the locals, I hope you will look me up and tell me your favorite New Orleans tales. I'd love to hear them and I'd love to meet you. I've always said that if I ever won the lottery or made a fortune on my books, I'd have to buy a place in New Orleans just so I could go immerse myself in the culture and legends on a regular basis.
I have to say this, I've been very blessed with a family who supports my writing...a best friend who encouraged me to write from the very beginning...and all the wonderful folks who have become friends that I've met along the way in this journey of being a published author. I've gone places, seen things and met people that I may never have if it weren't for being a writer. I love sharing my stories with as many people as I can...even if I never get financially rich...I'm rich with blessings...and that's what life is all about! Thanks to all of you!!
