It's been a long time since I've tackled writing two books at the same time...but...here I am with two manuscripts well underway on my (sometimes) trusty laptop. Sometimes, when an idea comes, you just have to dive right in and get busy before the idea flies away on the wings of a bird. Or dragon. Or on the broomstick of a witch. Which leads me into telling you a little bit about what I'm cooking up for you.
It seems as if magick, witches, and anything paranormal in my forte. So, the first book I started several weeks ago and it is the first book in the O'Reilly Clan series. Unbeknownst to the heroine, she discovers she comes from a long line of magickal beings...including a sexy warlock who reads minds and his sexy brother who just happens to be a shape shifting wolf. The second book will be called the Coven of Sisters and will have 8 books...yes...8 of them. The descendants of the original coven of sisters were scattered all over the world because said ancestors scattered right before the potato famine in Ireland. The first book starts with Natalia who is a witch and medium in New Orleans. I don't want to give a whole lot away...but if you follow along here...you will get glimpses into both books.
I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get to go to New Orleans this weekend as planned...but unfortunately...a bungled back and broker ribs made it necessary to stay behind and sit this signing out. But, I'll be in Deadwood in June for Wild Deadwood Reads and I hope to have two new releases by then...Rowena's Song and the first in the O'Reilly Clan series. Hopefully, I'll see some of you there!
How many of you have jumped on the Kindle Vella technology? If you have,I have two stories up with several episodes already posted. One is a romantic ghost story and the other is a non-fiction about spiritualism. I'd invite you to give them a shot.
I think I may have mentioned my lofty goal of reading 52 books this year, and that's going rather smoothly. If you'd like to see what I've read so far, head over to Goodreads and you can see for yourself. I do have to mention the last one I finished up yesterday. It's the second book in Alexandria Weis and Lucas Astor's St. Benedict series. River of Ashes was the first book and you have to read it first before moving on to River of Wrath. Talk about the twists and turns of a good series! I am now impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.
Today is a beautiful day here in Indiana. It ended up being sunny most of the day and 50 degrees. The chickens were basking in the sun and they seem to be a little more accepting of their rooster this weekend...Casanova is no longer in the bottom of the pecking order. I'm sure he's relieved at that.
I have a pork roast and potatoes in the crock pot and a cheesecake in the oven...there are none of those instant or store bought cheesecakes in this household! The evening will be spent with us watching 1923 and maybe another episode of Your Honor. Then it's back to work tomorrow...
I'm going to climb off this and get back to one of the two manuscripts...have a wonderful week everyone!
